Ontology e-Assessment

The project ‘Ontology-based e-assessment for Accounting Education’, which began in 2010 as an extension of the Ensemble Project, is funded jointly by the Association for Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the International Accounting Education and Standards Board (IAESB). The project aimed to answer the question ‘What is the potential of ontology-based semantic technologies for the summative and formative e-assessment of undergraduate learning in Accounting?’. The project team in the UK worked in partnership with the original developers of the OeLe (Ontology e-Learning) platform in Murcia, Spain, to configure and deploy a version of OeLe for use in undergraduate Accounting tests.
